President of Ukraine and Federal Chancellor of Germany discussed Russia’s intentions and joint defense opportunities against aggression

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone conversation with Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz.

The official website of the President of Ukraine reported this.

The Head of State informed about the consequences of another terrorist attack by Russia against Ukraine, particularly against the energy infrastructure. The Russian Federation used hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles.

The President thanked Germany for its solidarity with Ukraine and continuous support.

Germany has made a significant contribution to protecting the lives of Ukrainians. Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for the joint decision with Norway to provide Ukraine with two additional Patriot systems.

The leaders discussed Russia’s intentions and the joint capability to defend and protect themselves.

In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Friedrich Merz discussed contacts with partners, joint work within the coalition of the willing, and the PURL initiative.

The President thanked Germany for its contribution. The leaders agreed to work on expanding the program and involving other countries in it.
