On the sidelines of the International Defense Industries Forum DFNC3, a statement of intent was signed between the UK Secretary of State for Defence and the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine regarding the LYRA program — a partnership in the field of battlefield technologies.
This was reported by Minister of Defence of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
The document outlines the parties’ intention to jointly develop and scale defense technologies.
In particular, the two countries agreed to establish a working group that will coordinate joint projects within the LYRA program.
The goal of LYRA is to strengthen the defense capabilities of both nations by combining the defense-industrial and scientific potential of Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
This cooperation will enable joint development, modernization, and scaling of the production of necessary weapons systems.
In addition, a project agreement was signed on joint artillery production with the United Kingdom.
“I am grateful to the United Kingdom for its strong contributions to strengthening Ukraine’s defense capability. Together, we are reinforcing the security of all Europe”, — said Denys Shmyhal.
