Minister of Defence of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Defence of the United Arab Emirates, Staff Lieutenant General Ibrahim Nasser Al Alawi, during which he highlighted the “extremely important role” of the UAE in the release of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
The head of the Ukrainian defence ministry reported this on his official page.
“I expressed gratitude for the humanitarian support provided by the UAE. I emphasized the extremely important role the Emirates play in freeing Ukrainian prisoners of war. We highly value this partnership, which helps bring our people back home”, – the statement reads.
It is noted that the parties also discussed possible areas for further cooperation aimed at strengthening the security of both nations.
“Grateful for the visit and the constructive dialogue”, – the minister concluded.
