The largest training center for the preparation of Ukrainian servicemen (Camp Jomsborg) has been opened in Poland. It can simultaneously accommodate up to 1,200 military personnel.

This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Yevhen Moisiuk.

“The training center, established with the support of European partners, in particular Norway, will ensure the preparation of the Defense Forces and strengthen the exchange of combat experience between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and NATO. Here we will also be able to share with our partners, among other things, our practices in the use of and countering drones”, — said Lieutenant General Yevhen Moisiuk.

The decision to establish the training center was made in May 2025. On October 1, its ceremonial opening took place, attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of Poland Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Minister of Defense of Norway Tore Onshuus Sandvik, Minister of Defense of Estonia Hanno Pevkur, as well as representatives of other NATO member states.

The training center is located at one of the Polish Land Forces’ training grounds. It is an element of NATO’s support for Ukraine and forms a foundation for further cooperation in strengthening defense potential. Currently, 250 Norwegian instructors are already stationed there. It is expected that servicemen from Estonia and other Alliance countries will soon join them.
