Operators of the 59th Separate Assault Brigade of Unmanned Systems “Stepovi Khyzhaky” of the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed a Russian Mi-8 helicopter using an FPV drone.
The corresponding video was published on September 29 on the channel of the commander of the Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems, Major Robert, callsign “Madyar” Brovdi.
“The Mi-8 helicopter was destroyed by an FPV drone operated by pilots of the 59th Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Forces”, — he wrote.
Shortly afterward, the Unmanned Systems Forces clarified that operators of the 59th Brigade destroyed a transport-combat Mi-8 helicopter using an FPV drone in the area of the settlement of Kotliarivka.
“The Mi-8 is a Russian multipurpose helicopter used for transporting personnel and cargo, conducting medical evacuation, as well as serving as a platform for air support of ground units. The cost of a single such helicopter is at least 6 million U.S. dollars”, — the report states.
