Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue counteroffensive actions in the Donetsk direction — the Pokrovsk area and the Dobropillia area.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported this in his evening address.
“It was precisely there that one of the most important directions of the Russian offensive was concentrated, and they were unable to launch a full-scale assault there — our military are destroying their forces”, — said the Head of State.
The President added that the Russians are suffering significant losses, and Ukraine’s exchange fund has been substantially replenished — every day brings more Russian prisoners of war.
“I want to thank all our units that are engaged. The 79th and 82nd Air Assault Brigades, our assault units — the 1st, 33rd, 225th, and 425th Assault Regiments, the 14th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. Thank you, warriors!” — said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
He separately highlighted the situation in the city of Kupiansk and the surrounding areas: “We are defending our positions, thanks to all the brigades. There will also be new deep strikes from us in response to what Russia is doing.”
