The Raven air-defense missile systems supplied by the United Kingdom are used by the Air Force on various fronts.

The corresponding video was published by the Ukrainian Air Force.

“Target acquired. Warning, combat launch. Confirmed shoot-down. Target destroyed”, — is heard in the clip.

Air-defense missile platoon commander Oleksandr said the system was provided by the United Kingdom and is equipped with ASRAAM-132 missiles.

“Designed to engage UAVs of all types, cruise missiles, and, ideally, air targets such as aircraft or helicopters”, — he explained.

The serviceman noted two notable events.

“First — the engagement of a cruise missile. The second such moment — on the unit’s first combat watch the crew shot down four reconnaissance UAVs of the ‘Orlan’ and ‘Zala’ classes. That was literally within eight hours. And it’s very pleasant when the guys from the infantry units sincerely thank you”, — Oleksandr assured.

Raven system operator-gunner Volodymyr says it is a very simple installation.

“Everything has become automatic. That is, you acquire the target, check for a stable lock, align the missile, fire. I’ve made over 80 launches. The first launch — it was something incredible. There were a lot of emotions, a lot of adrenaline. The first target is remembered forever. It was an ‘Orlan’ UAV. We shot it down in Kherson region”, — he recounted.

Raven section commander Oleksandr assured that all the men are trained and can replace one another if needed.
