Despite adverse weather conditions — frost, snow, and ice — Russian occupiers are attempting to advance in the Lyman direction not only on foot, but also using light vehicles — “Bukhanka” vans and motorcycles.

This was stated on Army TV by Maksym Bilousov, Head of the Communications Section of the 60th Separate Mechanized Inhulets Brigade of the 3rd Army Corps.

The enemy’s main bet is on manpower, with ratios reaching 4 to 1, 6 to 1, and even 10 to 1 compared to Ukrainian Defense Forces personnel. As a result, the enemy has to be destroyed on an industrial scale.

“It is quite cold here, often snowy, sometimes rain followed by ice. These are very difficult conditions for infantry and for being on the front line. Nevertheless, the enemy does not abandon attempts to advance in our area of responsibility, and we are doing everything to prevent that”, — Bilousov said.

He detailed how the enemy operates in the area of responsibility of the 60th Brigade.

“Small-group assaults have not gone anywhere. They are still conducting assaults in small groups. Enemy infantry keeps trying to advance”, — he noted.

In addition to infantry movements, the enemy is also attempting to use vehicles and motorcycles.

“They try to advance in those ‘Bukhankas’. They also try to move on motorcycles. They attempt to camouflage themselves using so-called winter camouflage suits to be less visible”, — Bilousov said.

The main difficulty, he explained, is that Russians rely on numbers and significantly outnumber Ukrainian defenders.

“But our guys have been fighting for a long time, many since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Their experience also helps us destroy the enemy on an industrial scale.

Of course, it is difficult when the ratio can be 1 to 4, 1 to 6, sometimes 1 to 10. This creates certain difficulties in confronting such an enemy. But we are holding on, holding the line, and steadfastly containing the enemy on our positions”, — he emphasized.
