The number of supplied drones has increased by nearly 2.5 times compared to the number delivered last year.
This was reported on December 24 by Ukraine’s Minister of Defense, Denys Shmyhal.
“The role of unmanned systems on the battlefield is growing, and therefore the production of innovative tools of war is our number one priority.
By the end of this year, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive 3 million FPV drones, which is almost 2.5 times more than the number delivered to the AFU last year.
At the same time, the vast majority of unmanned systems in the arsenal of our warriors are domestically produced.
This year, 2.4 million FPV drones were supplied to the military by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine’s Defense Procurement Agency. Most of them were drones purchased under direct contracts with manufacturers.
Another 200,000 UAVs were received by the military through the DOT-Chain Defence IT system, which was launched at the end of July.
The arsenal of our warriors has also been expanded with more ground robotic complexes. This year, nearly 15,000 GRCs were delivered to AFU units — many times more than last year.
GRCs perform logistics, evacuation, reconnaissance, mining and demining, and patrol missions. Some ground robots are equipped with combat modules and conduct assault and defensive operations.
We continue to work actively to ensure that our warriors have a technological advantage on the front line”, — Denys Shmyhal noted.
