Infantrymen Denys, callsign “Bars”, and Dmytro, callsign “K2”, from the 93rd Mechanized Brigade “Kholodnyi Yar” returned from a position near the city of Kostiantynivka, where they had held the defense for 130 days.
The story about the fighters was published on the brigade’s channel on December 23.
According to the infantrymen, the most difficult moment was the first small-arms contact with the enemy: “That was the scariest part. After that, it was like clockwork. It’s good when you’re the one shooting, not being shot at”.
Overall, the fighters account for seven eliminated occupiers. From dead Russian soldiers, “Bars” and “K2” took radios and for another two months listened in on them, gathering all information about enemy movements and transmitting it to the battalion command post.
The fighters also showed off a trophy weapon — an AK-12 assault rifle. Denys’s personal rifle was buried during an enemy FPV drone attack, so he had to use the enemy’s weapon in combat.
The fighters were evacuated from the position on a quad bike with a trailer. Along with them, a 23-year-old Russian prisoner of war, Danila Sychov from Volgograd, was also taken out.
During the fighting, he surrendered to fighters from a neighboring position, but there was no possibility to evacuate him. As a result, he stayed with the Ukrainian soldiers at the positions for more than two months.

The enemy carried out a series of targeted strikes on a thermal power plant in the nearest suburb of Kharkiv. This led to a significant drop in voltage in the city, directly affecting heat supply and the operation of public transport.
On the Kramatorsk axis, in the area of responsibility of the 56th Brigade, the enemy continues to use the so-called “creeping offensive” tactic. The advance is carried out mainly by infantry, supported by fiber-optic FPV drones. The enemy launches several hundred such drones per day in this sector.
On the Lyman axis, the situation remains difficult. The enemy does not abandon attempts to assault our forward positions with its numerous infantry. They try to “fly in” to positions on motorcycles; assaults using heavy equipment also take place.
The number of supplied drones has increased by nearly 2.5 times compared to the number delivered last year.
On the Kupiansk axis, in the area of responsibility of the 3rd Assault Brigade, the enemy is observed using infiltration tactics with small groups. However, enemy assault infiltrators are met with annihilation.
For 45 consecutive days, a ground robotic complex of the 3rd Assault Brigade went on combat duty and, with machine-gun fire, suppressed all attempts by the enemy to break through into our sector.
