Emergency restoration work continues in Ukraine following massive Russian attacks on energy infrastructure. Hundreds of thousands of families in a number of regions remain without electricity, heating, and water supply.

This was reported by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Consequences of strikes on energy infrastructure

According to the Head of State, since yesterday all relevant services have been working to restore electricity, heating, and water supply to regions affected by Russian strikes. The most difficult situation remains in Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kherson, Chernihiv, Donetsk, Sumy, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

The President thanked energy workers and repair crews involved in eliminating the consequences of the attacks.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also reported that overnight Russia again struck Ukrainian communities. As a result of the shelling, there are wounded.

Scale of Russian attacks over the week

The Head of State emphasized that Russia is deliberately prolonging the war and seeking to inflict as much damage as possible on the civilian population.

“In total, this week alone, the Russians launched more than 1,500 strike drones, nearly 900 guided aerial bombs, and 46 missiles of various types at Ukraine. Just one week”, — the statement said.

Diplomatic efforts and expectations of results

The President stressed that Ukraine needs peace on dignified terms and is ready to work as constructively as possible on the diplomatic track. The coming days, he said, will be filled with diplomatic contacts.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed hope for support from international partners and thanked everyone who is helping Ukraine.
