Delegations from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defence of the United Kingdom have signed a licensing agreement concerning the Ukrainian Octopus interceptor drone.
This was announced by Ukraine’s Minister of Defence, Denys Shmyhal, on 27 November.
“Together with our allies, we are developing Ukraine’s air-defence capabilities. This is a historic precedent and the next important step that will allow Ukrainian-made interceptors — which have proven their effectiveness in countering ‘Shaheds’ — to be manufactured in the United Kingdom. I thank our British partners for their cooperation, trust, and contribution to strengthening our air-defence system”, — he wrote.
According to him, mass production of the interceptors is planned, potentially reaching several thousand units per month. The manufactured systems will be transferred to Ukraine to enhance the protection of its skies.
The enemy is attempting to develop the production of naval drones and copy successful Ukrainian practices — both technical solutions and tactics.
