Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, held a phone conversation with General Alexis G. Grinkevich, Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) and Commander of U.S. European Command.

He reported this on social media on October 24.

Oleksandr Syrskyi provided an update on the current operational situation in the areas of active hostilities.

“The enemy continues terror against the civilian population — striking critical infrastructure, educational institutions, kindergartens, hospitals, and residential buildings. Energy facilities are the main target of Russian attacks, aiming to leave Ukrainians without electricity, water, and heating”, — he noted.

The generals also discussed plans for forming new aid packages to meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“I took the opportunity to express my gratitude personally to General Alexis G. Grinkevich, Minister Hegeth, President Trump, and the entire American people for their unwavering support and assistance to Ukraine in its struggle — particularly for the practical implementation of the PURL initiative, which is crucial for saving the lives of our citizens and protecting critical infrastructure”, — wrote the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It was noted that more than 17 NATO member states have joined the PURL initiative to collectively finance the purchase of American weapons for Ukraine.

“This commitment by the majority — more than half of NATO’s 32 members — was announced following last week’s defense ministers’ meeting and marks a significant expansion from the initial six participating countries: the Netherlands, Germany, Canada, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark”, — the statement said.
