Contributions of $422 million to the PURL initiative and new military aid packages: results of the “Ramstein” meeting

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, announced that during the latest Ramstein-format meeting with Ukraine’s allies, agreements were reached that will strengthen Ukraine.

This was reported in a statement on the Minister’s Telegram channel on October 16.

In particular, the meeting resulted in new contributions to the PURL initiative, totaling at least $422 million.

More than half of NATO member countries have already made or declared their contributions to PURL.

New contributions for purchases from the Ukrainian defense industry — $715 million:

  • Norway — $600 million for UAVs, electronic warfare systems, and explosives.

  • The Netherlands — $106 million for strike and reconnaissance drones.

  • Canada — $8 million for interceptor drones.

  • Iceland — $4 million within the framework of the “Danish model.”

Military assistance:

  • Sweden — $8 billion in security assistance to Ukraine for 2026–2027.

  • Czech Republic — a new package worth $72 million.

  • Canada — $20 million for winter equipment and missile components.

  • Portugal — $12 million to the UK’s IFU weapons procurement fund for Ukraine.

  • Finland — preparing its 13th military aid package.

“I thank UK Defense Minister John Healey and German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius for their leadership, support, and for advancing the meetings in the Ramstein format. I am sincerely grateful to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, and every country participating in the Ramstein format for their contribution to saving lives and bringing lasting peace closer”, — reads the statement by Denys Shmyhal.
