French Armed Forces instructors continue to train Ukrainian troops under the European Union Military Assistance Mission in support of Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine).

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this.

The French side stresses that the training effort is focused on specific areas of specialisation that match the real needs of Ukrainian units.

The training covers three key components:

  1. Combat techniques, including infantry and artillery training: marksmanship, operating as part of combat teams, and crew coordination.
  2. Combat casualty rescue and care: practical drills in stopping bleeding, assessing a casualty’s condition and evacuating them in conditions as close as possible to combat.
  3. Supply and maintenance: mastering the repair and upkeep of weapons and military equipment provided by partners, including French-made artillery systems.

The combat experience that Ukraine’s Defence Forces accumulate daily in countering Russia’s armed aggression makes the training mutually enriching and shapes partner countries’ approaches to modern warfare.

The joint work of Ukrainian troops and French instructors strengthens both Ukraine’s defence capabilities and the collective security of the entire Euro-Atlantic area.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine express their sincere gratitude to the French Republic for the high professionalism of its instructors and its consistent support, and to the Republic of Poland for providing the training facilities and the conditions that make this training possible.
