The Ministry of Defence is nearing the final stage of negotiations with Finland on mutual state quality assurance (MSQA) of defense products.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine on March 3.
It is noted that this is already the eighth such agreement with NATO countries, which will allow Ukrainian arms manufacturers to integrate more quickly into the European market and enable the state to control the quality of foreign procurement according to Alliance standards.
Ukraine and Finland have completed preparatory procedures for signing a Memorandum of Understanding on mutual state quality assurance of defense goods, works, and services.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine granted permission for the negotiations and signing.
“Ukraine has already concluded seven such memorandums — with Sweden, the Czech Republic, France, Turkey, Germany, Norway, and Poland. Similar agreements with the United Kingdom, Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Slovenia are being prepared”, — the statement says.
The Ministry noted that the memorandum with Finland will define mechanisms of interaction between the defense agencies of both countries in quality assurance during the implementation of foreign economic contracts.
“This will simplify cooperation procedures between manufacturers, accelerate deliveries, and increase trust in products of the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex”, — the Ministry emphasized.
Under existing agreements, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine conducts mutual state quality assurance of products under foreign economic contracts with both Ukrainian and foreign manufacturers. This ensures unified approaches to quality control and increases the efficiency of international defense procurement and cooperation.
“Implementation of the agreements will enhance the authority of domestic producers and strengthen international partners’ trust in defense products made in Ukraine”, — said Colonel Yevhen Krasnykov, head of the Main Directorate of State Quality Assurance.
