Today, under repatriation procedures, 1,000 bodies (remains) were returned to Ukraine — claimed by the Russian side to be Ukrainian defenders.

This was reported on 29 January by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

Ukrainian investigators and forensic experts will conduct identification procedures.

The repatriation took place with the assistance of several state structures and the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Special thanks were expressed to civil-military cooperation units responsible for transporting and transferring the remains to law enforcement and forensic authorities.
