The Russians launched more than 50 drones at Odesa, with the main targets being energy infrastructure and ordinary civilian facilities. Five residential buildings were damaged, with significant destruction of apartments and entrances.
This was reported by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on January 26.
“All services are working on site to provide assistance. The rescue operation will continue until the fate of all people who may be under the rubble is clarified. One of the Russian drones hit a prayer house of Evangelical Christians. As of now, dozens of people are known to have been injured, including children”, — he wrote.
Other regions were also under attack that night: Lviv, Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions. The Russians targeted energy and other critical infrastructure. In total, Russia launched 165 strike drones at Ukraine overnight, about 100 of which were Shaheds.
“Each such Russian strike undermines diplomacy that is still ongoing and hits, in particular, the efforts of partners who are helping to end this war. We expect that America, Europe, and other partners will not remain silent about this and will remember that real peace requires pressure precisely on Moscow — sanctions, blocking Russian operations, blocking the entire infrastructure of the Russian tanker fleet”, — the President wrote.
The Head of State noted that without pressure on the aggressor, wars do not stop.
“Just as without supporting the defenders of life. Stable support for our people, our warriors, and faster implementation of agreements are needed. Thank you to everyone who understands this and helps”, — the President concluded.
