Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine General Oleksandr Syrskyi spoke with commanders of military units and subunits carrying out combat missions in the Pokrovsk direction and awarded servicemen for thwarting enemy plans near Pokrovsk, where the adversary is systematically suffering heavy losses.

He reported this on his page on January 22.

During the working meetings, the Commander-in-Chief heard reports from commanders, assessed the operational situation, and reviewed the condition and actions of Ukrainian units.

“We worked out further steps to strengthen defensive capabilities. Warfare is changing dynamically: the role of UAVs, fortifications, and proper training of servicemen is constantly growing. Therefore, at all levels we must promptly adapt our approaches to conducting combat operations. I once again emphasized this to commanders”, — he wrote.

According to him, in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to restrain the enemy, who is attempting to infiltrate the northern districts of both cities in small groups.

“As a result of active assault actions, another enemy attempt to seize these settlements was thwarted. The occupiers’ operational reserve suffered significant losses. At the same time, the situation remains difficult”, — Oleksandr Syrskyi stated.

The Commander-in-Chief added that Ukrainian warriors are effectively destroying the invaders, demonstrating coordinated teamwork and a high level of professionalism while performing combat missions under extremely difficult conditions.

“I sincerely thank Ukrainian defenders for their selfless service. I honored the best servicemen for thwarting enemy plans near Pokrovsk, where the enemy systematically suffers significant losses.

I presented the honorary badges of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine — the ‘Steel Cross’, ‘Silver Cross,’ and ‘Cross of Military Honor’. These distinctions testify to personal bravery, resilience, and devoted service to the Ukrainian people”, — he said.
