In the Lyman sector, the occupiers are trying to advance through fields and forest belts, but despite certain attempts at camouflage, the invaders are detected and destroyed by Defense Forces drone operators.
This was reported during an Army TV broadcast on January 16 by Olena, Deputy Chief of Staff of the unmanned systems battalion “Mara” of the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Mstyslav the Brave.
“The situation in our sector remains steadily tense but controlled. The Lyman sector is strategically important for the enemy, so they do not abandon attempts to assault, actively using both artillery and drones”, — she said.
Despite significant enemy activity in the sector, their efforts are not yielding the results desired by the occupiers.
“At our positions, we clearly understand their tactics. We always try to work proactively, and every meter of land here costs the enemy a very high price. I am proud of my unit — despite fatigue and the intensity of shelling, the morale of the guys is simply incredible. And I know for sure that we are doing everything to hold the line. And everything so that the enemy remains on this land — but in a black bag”, — the servicewoman assured.
Commenting on the occupiers’ use of tents under the cover of which Russians attempt to advance toward Defense Forces positions, the officer noted that this tactic cannot bring the enemy success.
“It’s like anti-drone umbrellas that grandmothers weave in Russia. Here we have a field and a forest belt. I think in a field and a forest belt these tents are very clearly visible, and our FPV operators will reach them much faster. As for such tactics, I am convinced that the Russians want either to die or simply to surrender”.
