During a meeting with UK Secretary of State for Justice David Lammy, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed Russia’s daily missile strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and the strengthening of protection against them.

This was reported in a message on the President’s Telegram channel.

“We are grateful for the decision of the United Kingdom to allocate an energy support package for Ukraine precisely now, when it is most needed”, — Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The interlocutors also discussed the diplomatic situation and sanctions policy against Russia. Volodymyr Zelenskyy provided the British minister with a detailed briefing on the situation on the battlefield and Russian losses.

“We also see how Russia is actively recruiting foreign citizens, particularly from Global South countries, into its criminal war. There must be greater coordination among partners to prevent such cases. I thank the United Kingdom, its government, and its people for all the assistance to our country”, — the President said.

The President separately emphasized the importance of the declaration signed by Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and France in Paris.

“We are very grateful that we have those who so strongly support our entire nation — all your people. The last meeting with your Prime Minister, David, was key for us. I am very thankful for these steps toward peace. And I am very grateful that together with the United Kingdom and France we signed this first step of the Coalition of the Willing. This declaration is the first major step”, — the Head of State noted.
