Today, January 15, Russia launched a missile strike on port infrastructure in the Odesa region, injuring one person.
This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine — Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba.
“A ballistic missile struck a berth at the Chornomorsk port, where a civilian vessel flying the flag of Malta was located. Unfortunately, one crew member was wounded. He is currently receiving the necessary assistance”, — the statement said.
The vessel was preparing to transport container cargo. As a result of the strike, three containers were damaged and an oil spill occurred. A containment boom is being installed to localize the consequences.
“This is another act of Russian terror against civilian port infrastructure, international trade, and maritime safety. Russia deliberately targets facilities that ensure exports, logistics, and food security”, — Oleksii Kuleba emphasized.
