President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported on the consequences of Russian strikes on the night of January 9 and called on the international community to strengthen support for diplomatic resolution.
He posted on social media.
In Kyiv and region, the aftermath of massive Russian shelling is being addressed with all necessary services involved. Twenty residential buildings were damaged. Restoration is ongoing in Lviv and other regions.
“Unfortunately, as of now, four people have been confirmed dead in the capital, including an emergency medical worker. My condolences to their families. Dozens were injured. There was a repeated strike on one residential building just as emergency services were providing assistance after the first hit”, — Zelensky said.
That night, there were 242 UAVs, 13 ballistic missiles targeting energy and civil infrastructure, one medium-range ballistic missile (Oreshnik), and 22 cruise missiles.
“The attack occurred during a sharp cold spell. Directly against the normal life of ordinary people”, — Zelensky emphasized.
