On the night of January 8 (from 7:00 p.m. on January 7), the enemy attacked with 97 strike UAVs of the Shahed type, “Gerbera”, and drones of other types from the following directions: Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), Chauda, Hvardiiske (temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea), Donetsk (temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine). About 70 of them were Shaheds.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data as of 8:00 a.m., air defense shot down or suppressed 70 enemy UAVs of the Shahed and Gerbera types and drones of other types in the eastern and southern regions of the country.
Hits by 27 strike UAVs were recorded at 13 locations, as well as the fall of downed drones (debris) at one location.
