President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, together with Andriy Hnatov and Rustem Umerov, held a long and substantive phone conversation with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
This was reported by the Head of State on social media.
“I am grateful for a very focused and constructive conversation. We paid attention to many aspects and rather quickly discussed the key points that can guarantee an end to the bloodshed and remove the threat of a third Russian invasion”, — the statement reads.
The parties also discussed the risk of Russia failing to fulfill its promises, as has happened repeatedly in the past.
According to the Head of State, Ukraine is determined to continue working honestly with the American side in order to genuinely bring peace.
“We agreed on the next steps and on the formats of dialogue with the United States. I thank President Trump for such an intensive approach to the negotiations”, — Volodymyr Zelensky said.
“I am waiting for Rustem Umerov and General Hnatov with a detailed report. We cannot discuss everything over the phone, so we need to work thoroughly with the teams on ideas and proposals. Our approach is that everything must be workable — every important element for peace, security, and reconstruction. Thank you!” — the President of Ukraine concluded.
