Ukraine has received €5.9 billion from the European Union under the ERA Loans and Ukraine Facility programs.
This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
“Today, there is an important decision in support of our country from our partners. It is significant that the ERA Loans mechanism is financed from the profits generated by frozen Russian assets — this already forces Russia to pay for its aggression”, — the Head of State noted.
According to him, only pressure can work for the sake of peace, and therefore efforts to use Russian assets must be intensified.
“We are counting on a prompt political decision regarding the reparations loan and the full use of these funds for the defense of Ukraine. I thank President Ursula von der Leyen for her leadership and support of Ukraine. We continue to work for our shared security”, — he concluded.
