Matviy, callsign “Hollywood,” worked in film and television production, but the full-scale Russian invasion forced him to take up arms.
The story of the fighter, who has already risen to the position of platoon commander in the 108th Kodatska Territorial Defense Brigade, was shared on social media by the 17th Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As noted, in civilian life Matviy was a screenwriter. His credits include projects such as the TV series “Love and Flames” for STB channel and the feature film “Snow Promised for Christmas”, which won a competition organized by the State Film Agency of Ukraine.
“After mobilization, he became a fighter in the 108th Territorial Defense Brigade, progressing from rifleman to platoon commander. Three children, a wife, creativity — all stayed at home. Here on the frontline, the main mission is to protect Ukraine”, — the post dedicated to Matviy states.
The fighter himself says that now he dreams only of peace and returning to his family.
“The dream is simple: to be with my family and live in peace. But only on our terms. And we will achieve this” , — shares “Hollywood.”
