Siversk under Ukraine’s control: 54th Brigade refutes “Capture” fake news

Reports are circulating online claiming that Russian forces have allegedly established control over Siversk. These statements are based on false comments and are being spread by resources working in favor of the enemy.

This was stated in a post on the page of the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa.

According to official information, Siversk remains under the full control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Despite difficult weather conditions and dense fog, the enemy continues attempts at infiltration using small infantry groups. On the approaches to the city, Ukrainian units inflict significant losses on assault groups — destroying up to half of their personnel.

Infantry Groups and Information Provocations

Some small enemy groups manage to penetrate the basements of multi-story buildings, which complicates their operational neutralization. Simultaneously, there are attempts to plant Russian flags and other symbols on individual structures. The brigade emphasizes that such actions are purely informational in nature and are aimed at creating the illusion of control over the city.

All such attempts end for the enemy with further losses and do not achieve any tactical objectives.

The brigade urges citizens to critically assess information circulating online and to rely only on official reports from the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
