A surgeon with seven years of experience, Maksym saves the lives of defenders in the 2nd Medical Battalion.

“I am a surgeon. In civilian life I worked as a thoracic surgeon, but here I do everything that is required of me. I have been practicing surgery for seven years now. Here you quite often have to make decisions in fractions of a second. To provide assistance regardless of what you did in civilian life”, — Maksym says.
According to him, civilian and military surgery are very different.
“The last year of my practice I spent in planned surgery, when the patient is prepared, examined, and walks into the operating room on their own feet. Here, to put it mildly, the conditions are completely different. So I had to, so to speak, switch to another mode of work”, — Maksym says.
