The command of the Russian army is sending unprepared servicemen into assaults — people they do not mind losing. Better-trained and better-equipped troops follo
This was reported on Army TV on February 23 by an intelligence officer of the 5th Separate Detachment of the Special Purpose Center “Omega” of the National Guard of Ukraine, call sign “Mamay”.
“Most of our enemy’s personnel are less prepared. These are the kinds of people who signed contracts, so to speak, under pressure — either because of debts, or they were taken from prisons”, — he said.
Better-trained soldiers come in the following assault wave after the first group of Russian storm troops.
“We do come across trained servicemen, but they usually appear only after several waves of less-prepared ones. They are better equipped, harder to kill and detect, and they move faster. Those who usually go first are slower — by the time they reach us, they are already very tired and extremely slow. But yes, there are also servicemen who are quite well trained”, — Mamay reported.
However, even the better-trained and better-equipped Russian infantry are powerless against Ukrainian drones.
“We often see them trying to shoot at the drone, but the cases in which they actually hit it are very rare. Our pilots already have experience and try not to enter their kill zone, approaching from behind instead. So such videos where the enemy hits our drone are something we rarely see”, — the officer said.
Most often, the enemy tries to attack in the Pokrovsk direction under the cover of fog. Yet Ukrainian defenders have already adapted to this tactic.
“The enemy uses weather conditions to the maximum. When there is a temperature drop and by early morning fog appears, they try to use it to move forward, sneak in somehow, infiltrate our positions. But since they have been using this tactic for a long time already, we have adapted to it, and we manage to hold them back”, — Mamay assured.
