The “Alpha” Special Operations Center of the Security Service of Ukraine set a record for destroying fixed-wing enemy unmanned aerial vehicles among all units of Ukraine’s Defence Forces in 2025.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine on February 3.
In 2025, Alpha destroyed 2,220 enemy drones — the highest number among all units.
Targets destroyed included both strike and reconnaissance UAVs: Shaheds and Gerans, Molniyas, Lancets, ZALAs, Orlans, Merlins, Italmases, Skats, and other types of drones that Russia actively uses to terrorize Ukrainian cities and conduct aerial reconnaissance.
Special attention is given to the so-called “fat” targets. In particular, Alpha operators destroyed Russian medium-altitude, long-endurance strike-reconnaissance drones of the Orion type, each costing over 5 million dollars.
