In January 2026, in less than a month, the Phoenix border UAV unit eliminated more occupiers than during all of 2024. This is also almost double the unit’s average monthly indicators throughout 2025.

This was reported to ArmyInform by the Main Department of Unmanned Aviation Systems “Phoenix” of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

A significant improvement in Phoenix’s effectiveness became possible due to joining the presidential project “Drone Line” and becoming part of the Unmanned Systems Forces grouping.

Phoenix continuously improves, expands, and implements new technological solutions. Thanks to this, operators achieved the significant figure of over 1,500 eliminated occupiers in January 2026 alone.

For comparison: before joining the presidential “Drone Line” project and before becoming part of the Unmanned Systems Forces grouping, Phoenix eliminated just over 1,200 occupiers during all of 2024 — less than in incomplete January 2026.

During 2025, Phoenix significantly improved results — about 10,500 eliminated Russians, more than half of them irrecoverable losses.

All this became possible thanks to strong support from the state and comrades-in-arms with whom the unit develops unmanned technologies.

Currently, units of the Unmanned Systems Forces grouping are the most effective among UAV units — an indicator of effective cooperation.

Phoenix has consistently ranked among the top three best UAV units for several months.

“It is important to note that quality, not quantity, is our priority. We do not chase the number of crews, we do not pad our ‘e-scores’ by destroying empty enemy shelters.

We focus on the professionalism of our pilots and on eliminating enemy manpower, as well as Russian technical assets and their UAV operators”, — Phoenix emphasized.
