The Defense Forces of Ukraine provide basic types of monetary allowance, additional types of monetary allowance, and one-time additional payments.
This was stated on Army FM by Tetiana Zabrodska, Head of the Financial and Economic Directorate of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The structure of monthly monetary allowance includes two components — basic and monthly additional types of allowance. These include position salary, rank salary, length-of-service bonus, position salary increase, monthly bonus, and possible salary increases”, — Tetiana Zabrodska noted.
One-time additional payments include combat pay, wellness assistance, material assistance, and contract signing bonuses.
Each servicemember can independently calculate their own monetary allowance. In May 2024, the Ministry of Defense introduced an online monetary allowance calculator on its website.
“A servicemember simply needs to open a search engine, enter ‘monetary allowance calculator,’ and it will immediately take them to the page. To do this, you need to know your military rank, tariff grade, and length-of-service bonus. With just a few clicks, they can find out the amount of monthly monetary allowance provided for their position and rank”, — Tetiana Zabrodska explained.
