In the New Year, Russian invaders struck the Volyn, Rivne, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions. The main target was Ukraine’s energy sector.
This was reported by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“In the New Year, Russia deliberately brings war: more than 200 attack drones were launched against Ukraine last night. Most were shot down, and I thank all our warriors who repelled this attack.
Wherever necessary, rescuers are helping, and energy workers are working to restore electricity after the strikes. I thank everyone involved in eliminating the consequences”, — he wrote.
The Head of State emphasized that the killings must be stopped.
“There can be no pauses in protecting life. If strikes do not stop even during New Year holidays, then air defense deliveries cannot be delayed. Our allies have the necessary scarce equipment.
We expect that everything agreed with America at the end of December for our protection will arrive on time. I am grateful to everyone for their readiness to stand with Ukraine and work for our common security”, — the President noted.
