President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The parties coordinated positions on joint actions in Europe to protect the European way of life, the independence of states, and the achievement of a just peace.
The Head of State reported this on social media.
During the conversation, preparations for an upcoming meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump were discussed. The President informed the German Chancellor about current work with American representatives, in particular mentioning the Berlin format of negotiations and the results achieved within it. Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine continues to adhere to this approach and will act jointly with European partners.
The President thanked Germany for its consistent and tangible support for Ukraine. According to him, joint actions with the German side have helped save thousands of lives from Russian strikes and strengthen Ukraine’s defense positions, which in turn enhances its position on the diplomatic front.
“Peace must be achieved”, — Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized, thanking Friedrich Merz for his support and solidarity with Ukraine.
