President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law that simplifies the import of defense-related goods and introduces tax and customs benefits for their import into Ukraine.
This was reported by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The law in question is No. 4709-IX.
According to the Verkhovna Rada, the document provides for the simplification and reduction of the cost of importing components for unmanned aerial vehicles, mechanized demining machines, counter-technical intelligence equipment, as well as other products necessary for the modernization and repair of weapons and military equipment.
In addition, the law exempts the import of modern combat simulation systems for training centers and ranges from value-added tax.
According to lawmakers, this will improve the quality of military training in safe conditions that are as close as possible to real combat environments.
It is expected that the adopted changes will contribute to faster provision of the Defense Forces of Ukraine with necessary technologies and equipment under martial law.
