The acting commander of the unmanned ground systems (UGS) company of the 110th Mechanized Brigade named after General-Horunzhyi Marko Bezruchko, Serhii Volkov, spoke about the significance of ground robotic systems in modern warfare.
The interview with the soldier for ArmyTV was published on the brigade’s channel.
Serhii Volkov recalled that at the beginning of the use of ground robots, Ukrainian soldiers were sometimes frightened, thinking that Russians had entered their rear areas.
Today, UGS have become indispensable: they evacuate the wounded, deliver ammunition, water, and food to positions, and even conduct reconnaissance.
Serhii Volkov is convinced that robotic tanks may appear in the near future. According to him, robots — not people — should operate at firing positions and observation posts on the front line. Learn more about the work of the 110th Brigade’s UGS company in the video.
