President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi met with President of the Council of Ministers of Italy Giorgia Meloni in Rome.
The Head of State reported this on social media.
“We had a great conversation — very substantive across all aspects of the diplomatic situation. We appreciate that Italy is active in the process of searching for effective ideas and defining steps to bring peace closer”, — Volodymyr Zelenskyi stated.
The President informed the President of the Council of Ministers about the work of the Ukrainian negotiating team.
“We are coordinating diplomacy. We very much count on continued Italian support — it matters for Ukraine”, — Volodymyr Zelenskyi said.
Separately, Volodymyr Zelenskyi thanked Italy for its energy support package and the necessary equipment.
“This will definitely support Ukrainian families, our people, our children — life in our cities and communities that suffer constant Russian strikes. We must protect life. Thank you, Italy!” — the statement reads.
