Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, took part in the 32nd meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group via videoconference and briefed partners on the current situation at the front.

This is stated in a publication on the Commander-in-Chief’s official page.

Frontline: enemy pressure without an Operational breakthrough

To implement its strategic plans, the enemy has increased its grouping to about 710,000 personnel. Despite significant losses, the Russian army continues combat operations but has not achieved any substantial operational success.

At the same time, according to Oleksandr Syrskyi, Ukrainian units maintain command and control, hold the defense, and are capable of seizing the initiative.

Counteractions in the East: Kupiansk and the Pokrovsk Axis

Thanks to active search-and-strike operations by the Defense Forces, the occupiers were pushed back from Kupiansk and nearly 90% of the city’s territory has been brought under control.

On the Pokrovsk axis, where the enemy has been trying to capture the city for more than 17 months, Ukrainian units continue to hold the defense and transition to counteractions. As a result:

  • 16 sq. km were regained in the northern part of Pokrovsk;

  • 56 sq. km were recaptured in the areas of Hryshyne, Kotlyne, and Udachne west of the city.

Deep Strike: pressure deep inside Russia

Ukraine is systematically increasing strikes deep inside enemy territory. Using Deep Strike capabilities, critical infrastructure facilities of the Russian Federation are being hit. According to Oleksandr Syrskyi, Russia’s direct and indirect losses since the beginning of the year amount to a total of $21.5 billion.

Appeal to partners: Air and Missile Defense and Long-range Strikes

The Commander-in-Chief emphasized the vital importance of external support and called on partners to increase the volume of military assistance, primarily for the development of air and missile defense and long-range fire capabilities. He expressed gratitude for solidarity, consistent support, and joint efforts toward achieving a just and lasting peace.
