A delegation of representatives from Ukrainian defense enterprises, headed by Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Serhii Boiev, held negotiations with the Lithuanian side on the implementation of joint projects in the defense industry sector.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
After a working visit to Romania, the Ukrainian delegation led by Serhii Boiev arrived in Lithuania, where they met with Deputy Minister of National Defense Tomas Godliauskas. The negotiations were also attended by representatives of Ukroboronprom leadership and other Ukrainian defense industry enterprises.
The purpose of the Ukrainian delegation’s visit was to assess the capabilities of Lithuanian companies in order to select partners for implementing joint production projects of Ukrainian weapons and other initiatives within the SAFE mechanism.
“Ukrainian companies have long been cooperating with Lithuanian ones, and we seek to strengthen this partnership. Regional security depends on our joint efforts”, — noted Serhii Boiev.
The Ukrainian delegation visited Lithuanian enterprises that are already cooperating with Ukraine’s defense industry. During the visit, they assessed production capacities, technological solutions, and industrial potential to ensure closer cooperation and expand production in Lithuania.
The Lithuanian side expressed its interest in localizing the development and production of drone technologies within the country, adopting the advanced experience of the Ukrainian defense industry, and applying it to strengthen national security and defense industrial capabilities.
“We aim not only to support Ukraine today but also to build a strong defense ecosystem for tomorrow. The realities of war are opening a new era of defense technologies. Together, Lithuania and Ukraine can not only strengthen their defense industries but also become an innovation hub that creates solutions for the security of all Europe”, — said Deputy Minister Tomas Godliauskas.
