A total of 370 new types of munitions have already been approved in Ukraine, including 250 for drones. These are the results of the next stage of the Ministry of Defense’s experimental project on the production, procurement and supply of munitions.

This was reported by Ukraine’s Minister of Defense Denys Shmyhal.

76 NEW MANUFACTURERS THANKS TO DEREGULATION

The head of the defense ministry noted that the experimental project began with UAV munitions and was later expanded to the entire range of ammunition.

“It’s about broad deregulation — removing bureaucratic barriers and simplifying permitting procedures so that the number of manufacturers increases and production scales up”, — Denys Shmyhal said.

As a result, 76 new manufacturers have joined the implementation of state contracts.

WHAT HAS CHANGED

According to the minister, competition has grown and the range of Ukrainian-made munitions has expanded.

“The share of fully assembled mortar and artillery rounds produced in Ukraine has increased by 50%. This indicates the establishment of closed production cycles”, — he emphasized.

“I thank everyone who strengthens Ukraine’s defense capabilities”, — Denys Shmyhal concluded.
