A delegation from the Ukrainian Air Force, led by Commander Lieutenant General Anatolii Kryvonozhko, met with representatives of Lockheed Martin.

The Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this.

The Ukrainian delegation briefed the company’s representatives on the effectiveness of Ukrainian pilots’ use of F-16 fighter jets.

Conor McGuire, who leads F-16 capability development, highly praised the operation and combat use of the F-16 by Ukrainian pilots and ground aviation personnel. He also expressed his intention to help Ukraine further enhance the capabilities of its existing platform.

During the war in Ukraine, F-16 pilots have achieved significant success in shooting down aerial targets and conducting airstrikes against enemy targets.

“Our pilots are using the available F-16s as effectively as possible despite limited ammunition supplies. Using a range of different weapons, Ukrainian F-16 pilots have already shot down more than 3,150 aerial targets, including 666 cruise missiles and around 2,500 UAVs of various types. They have also conducted more than 650 airstrikes against enemy ground targets,” said Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Anatolii Kryvonozhko.

At the same time, representatives of the US company discussed with the Ukrainian delegation the prospects of transitioning the Air Force to newer Fighting Falcon variants, in particular the F-16 Block 70/72.
