The President urged airlines and insurers to take into account the risks of flying in russia’s airspace.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in his evening address.

He stressed that Ukraine does not intend to pose a threat to civil aviation and does not attack civilian aircraft. At the same time, according to him, the activity of UAVs is effectively making russia’s airspace dangerous for civilian flights.

“russia’s skies are becoming completely dangerous,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The President urged airlines, insurers and other aviation market participants to take the situation into account when operating flights to Russian airports. He specifically drew attention to flights to Moscow, St Petersburg and other key destinations.

According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine will convey the relevant information to international organisations through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other state institutions.

He also urged ambassadors of foreign countries to convey information about the danger to their respective capitals.

“It is important that this be heard by the relevant airlines that are currently flying to airports, primarily in Moscow, St Petersburg and other key Russian destinations,” the President said.

“There is no place for civil aviation among drones,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
