President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine is preparing new long-range strikes in response to Russian attacks.

The Head of State said this in his evening address following reports from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to the President, the reports focused on Ukraine’s next steps and plans for September.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine’s diplomatic activity and negotiations with partners must deliver practical results — strengthening defence capabilities and providing the country with additional energy resources ahead of winter.

“All meetings, all our negotiations must be felt here, in Ukraine — both in our defence capabilities and through additional energy packages for Ukraine,” the address said.

The President noted that Ukraine already has concrete political agreements with a number of partners, including Canada, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Norway and the United States. Volodymyr Zelenskyy separately highlighted agreements with France, Germany and other key partners.

At the same time, he said it is necessary to audit all agreements reached at the political level that have not yet been implemented in practice.

“Every ministry should have a report on this, and this also applies to state-owned companies, first and foremost energy companies,” the President emphasized.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that ahead of the winter period, Ukraine must mobilize maximum support from its partners.

The President also held a conversation with U.S. President’s representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

According to the Head of State, the U.S. representatives are preparing for further communication with the Russian side and a visit to Ukraine.

During the conversation, Volodymyr Zelenskyy briefed them on developments in Ukraine, the situation at the front and Russian attacks, and discussed possible steps that could encourage russia to end the war.

“There needs to be the right mindset in Moscow, in Putin — a mindset to end the war, not to fight,” the President emphasized.

At the same time, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that signals from russia currently indicate that the Russian leadership wants to continue the war, despite what he described as the readiness of a significant part of Russian society to agree to a ceasefire along the line of contact.

“We will see what the representatives of the President of America will manage to achieve. September could change a lot,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
