This was reported by Commander-in-Chief of the AFU, General Oleksandr Syrskyi.
According to him, the second stage of corps reform is underway:
- redeploying brigades directly to their corps headquarters so that corps command their full complement of forces;
- expanding corps structures and scaling up units, especially unmanned forces;
- in some corps, UAV battalions are being reorganized into regiments;
- artillery brigades within corps have been created;
- strengthening the technological component, including ground unmanned systems for logistics and evacuation of the wounded, which reduces strain on personnel — and thus casualties.
Syrskyi reported that over 36,000 servicemembers have been transferred during corps formation, forming the backbone of corps command structures and units.
“Transitioning to the corps system relieved the command structure and significantly improved control over troops. It also allowed more effective and higher-quality planning and execution of combat tasks”, — the Commander-in-Chief concluded.
