The Ministry of Defense has updated the requirements for initiation devices for explosive charges (IDEC). This will significantly expand the capabilities for the production and use by Ukrainian troops of anti-personnel, anti-tank, and anti-vehicle mines deployed from UAVs.
This was reported by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal.
In addition, optimization of IDEC parameters will significantly reduce their cost, while an expanded range will allow selecting a device for specific combat tasks.
As of today, 80% of all mines use electronic IDECs. The Ministry of Defense, together with the Command of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has revised their key parameters. From now on, they meet real conditions of use and the technological capabilities of manufacturers.
“We continue working on modernizing and increasing the quantity of weapons so that the Ukrainian Armed Forces can continue to effectively deter the aggressor”, — the Minister’s statement said.
