“Putin can be forced into peace”: the President addressed 50 countries at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly

Speaking at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that just as peace was achieved in the Middle East and Hamas was forced to release hostages, the international community can and must also compel the Russian dictator Putin to make peace.

The Head of State wrote about this on his page, publishing his speech at the 71st annual session of the Assembly.

“Now we see that the war in the Middle East is finally coming to an end — after so many victims, there is a real chance for peace. It was difficult, but it is happening. Russia’s war in Europe remains the greatest source of global instability”, — the President noted, addressing delegations from nearly 50 countries.

He drew a direct parallel between terrorist regimes and the ways to influence them.

“Putin can be forced into peace — just like any other terrorist. Even Hamas released hostages. And if that becomes possible, then Putin can also be forced to restore peace”, — Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized.

The Head of State urged partners to take decisive action, explaining it as being in their own interests.

“By stopping Russia now, you will not only help us protect our lives — you will help yourselves. And you will spare your leaders from having to do what I am doing: appealing to the world for help if Russian drones, missiles, and soldiers become a threat to you”, — he said.

“Russia must lose”, — the President concluded.
